day four

steve and i are like two ships passing in the night. steve works third shift, i work first. every night after the kids are in bed steve is off to work, leaving us little time together without two kids by our side. last year we started writing in a journal as a way to help us communicate between our different schedules. we jot down to do lists, thank yous, messages, apologies. anything that spouses usually talk about during their down time at night. the other night i came home to my day four present written in our journal. my favorite present yet. steve has given me freedom from cleaning for four days. now, keep in mind, steve already does a huge chunk of the cleaning, but for four days i am not allowed to touch a thing. freedom. glorious freedom.
