what was that?

it was nap time as usual in our house today. elliott was sound asleep. gibson on the other hand was doing everything not to sleep. in one of his many pleas for me to come upstairs, he told me he had to go to the bathroom, and i have learned that the bathroom plea is not one to ignore. so, there we sat in the bathroom prolonging gibson's nap for yet another few minutes.

when gibson was finally done taking his sweet 'ole time, he went to the sink to wash his hands. while at the sink he picked up the tape measure that was sitting there and mumbled something. i asked him what he said and he said, "mom, (i am no longer momma by the way) this is non-standard unit of measurement." i replied with a stunned "what" and "who told you that?" he nonchalantly answered, "syd the science kid" as he strolled back into his bedroom. and that right there is why i love pbs kids. for thirty minutes in the morning, i can get the dishes done, and gibson can learn about nonstandard units of measurement. priceless.
