Project52: Blur

It was just over a year ago that I learned to sew.

You see, sewing is still a mystery to me. It is simple yet complex all at the same time.

During one of my early sewing lessons, my mom's Swedish friend told me{in her lovely Swedish accent}, Sewing is not perfect, and if I really mess it up, I just throw it way and start all over again.

What is this nonsense she had just told me?  You can't get it perfect?  You just start over?  There is grace in sewing?

Lo and behold, she was right.

One year later, I have yet to sew something perfectly.  I have started over more times than I can count, and for the first time, I have rejoiced in giving myself grace.

Some days I hate it.

Some days I love it.

But, on most days, I am thankful for my sewing machine, that grace filled Swedish voice, and the freedom that comes with creating.

It is a Blur how I got to being the girl carrying around a sewing machine.

But I did.

And, I am thankful.

Please head to the terpblog to see what is a Blur in her world this week.
